Mecklenburg End of Life Care Coalition

The Mecklenburg End of Life Care Coalition was formed in June, 2001 and represents organizations with a high regard for insuring quality end-of-life care for all people.  Our mission is to expand and advance the education and understanding of end-of life-care as well as end-of-life planning among those in the healthcare professions and the community at large.

The goals of the Mecklenburg End of Life Care Coalition are to:

  1. advocate and promote end-of-life educational activities.
  2. act as a central focal point for information-sharing among those involved in end-of-life education.
  3. network with other organizations involved in end-of-life issues; sharing ideas, resources and services and collaborative opportunities while avoiding duplication of efforts.

The Mecklenburg End of Life Care Coalition offers a variety of services on the topic of end-of-life care. From community presentations to training, members of the coalition help individuals and organizations to facilitate talking with patients and clients regarding advance care planning and completing their advance directives.  The coalition also partners with local healthcare organizations to plan and participate in a variety of end-of-life care programming for the general public and the medical community.
